Here we are, game week! The pinnacle of the football season is coming, as the Super Bowl between the best two teams in all of the NFL will be on everyone’s mind throughout the weekend. This year you couldn’t have picked two better teams, as both the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts were undefeated through most of the regular season and flexed their muscles this postseason.
Two high-powered offenses will take the field on Super Sunday, as both the Colts and Saints are led by the best quarterbacks in all of football (Peyton Manning and Drew Brees). For the defenses, this is an utter nightmare. All season long we have ranked any defense facing Indianapolis or New Orleans as a one or two star defense. Well you have to pick one right? Let’s see if we can figure out who will be the better option for Sunday in our Super Bowl Round edition of the Bruno Boys Weekly Defense Rankings.
As we head into the article, I would like to explain the “Bruno Boys Star System”.

Normal fantasy football leagues have come to an end and what a great season it was. We hope that you did well in your league, or leagues, but if you’re still looking for some fantasy football action while the playoffs go on, and you’re looking for some help then look no further because the Bruno Boys will be here throughout the postseason. As such we’ll be releasing our normal weekly position rankings to help you best decide which players to go with in our Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge. To see where this round’s defenses rank continue reading the Championship Round edition of the Bruno Boys Weekly Team Defense Rankings.
Early on with eight teams to fill your Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge team, it seemed like the defensive selection may not make a whole lot of difference. Now, that the field has been carved down to four, it’s the defense that may become the factor in you nudging out your friend or favorite Bruno Boys’ writer in this highly competitive league. Consider this - with only four teams left, there is a good chance of you having the same QB/RB/WR combination. That makes the defense all that more important for you to choose the right one.
Hopefully, we can make that choice easier for you. Early on in the playoffs, it has been the AFC defenses who have really shined. Outside of one NFC defense playing well a week, mostly every AFC defense has played average at worst and could be counted out to get your team the extra points you needed to this point. Nothing changes this week, as uncertainty in the NFC match-up, plus the AFC defenses looking like stellar units a week ago tells us you may want to stick to the AFC conference again this weekend.

Every week we try to give you the best plays based on projections, statistical information, and how teams match up. While we don’t get every defense right, the Bruno Boys provide enough reasoning to help make sense of why we are projecting these defenses where we do. Unlike other sites, we provide numbers and analysis that is unmatched by our competitors. That’s why you need to keep checking in and see why a defense is ranked where it is as many of you fight for a fantasy football championship.
Before we get into the rankings, let us first say that any league that plays in Week 17 needs to reconsider their settings. Too many times, a guy like Peyton Manning may only play a half and the best team in the league loses because the commissioner went all 17 weeks. The Bruno Boys would like to advise you to play only until Week 16, so everything is on a level playing field. With that said, for those of you still playing, let’s see which defenses will shine in the final week of the NFL season.

Here’s the bad news when it comes to defenses this week - the terrible offenses play some of the worst defenses. While it does make it tough to play match-ups, you should be able to find a defense that can be a difference maker in your playoff game on the waiver wire, especially with many other teams in your league now knocked out of contention and giving up. Try to grab one of the Bruno Boys top-10 defenses for this week if you can, because as we have seen this season, defenses can be the difference between a win and a loss in any given week.

You will find Week 14 in the NFL a bit interesting with your defensive plays. Some of the top units chosen very high in drafts or grabbed up quickly on the waiver wire have difficult plays in a crucial playoff week for many fantasy football players. Below you will see in our Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week 14 Team Defense Rankings that some defenses we suggest you gamble with could be a one week wonder, but may be exactly what you need that puts you over the top. If you have the roster space, try to add an extra defense this week and rest your main starter who has a tough match up as it could pay big dividends.
