We’re entering the final week of the regular season in the NFL and that means the final week for any fantasy football leagues that haven’t already finished. To help those of you still playing, we’ve compiled a list of guys below available on free agency lists that can help your team this week. Some of these players are guys that have been on this list before but are still available in most leagues and are able to help out your team. Others are newcomers and on this list because they’re in a favorable matchup or because they’re new to their team in general, such as Arizona Cardinals kicker Mike Nugent. To see the rest of the list on this, and how they can help your team, continue reading the Fantasy Football Week 17 Waiver Wire - Pick Them Up article.
QUARTERBACKS - PICK THEM UP
Alex Smith (San Francisco 49ers)
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith is a guy that’s been on this list multiple times before but we must include him again for a few reasons. Not only has Smith been playing well this season, but he’s still available in most leagues (55-percent of Yahoo standard leagues). Furthermore, Smith has a very favorable Week 17 matchup as the 49ers will play at the St. Louis Rams, a team that is 24th against the pass and 31st in the league in points allowed. If you’re need of a quarterback for Week 17, there likely aren’t any better options available on your waiver wire and you should feel confident about using Smith as a plug-n-play. We like him as a solid play this week in any league.

With the fantasy football season winding down, we here at the Bruno Boys have decided to change things up a bit here in our “Cut Them Loose” article. This late in the season, the majority of your rosters are set as the fat’s been trimmed. Thus, rather than focus on what guys to release from your fantasy roster altogether, we felt it would be worth our time to discuss players that enter 2010 with questions surrounding them. These are players that you are likely to draft but when doing so should limit your expectations.
Want to know which players you should think twice about drafting before your fantasy football league kicks off in 2010? The Bruno Boys have you covered as we run through potential RED FLAG players in 2010 from the NFC .

The fantasy football season may be winding down, but we’re still in full swing here at the Bruno Boys, which is good for those of you still active in your leagues. Though your roster is likely set by now, if you’re looking for a player in a pinch or just looking to pick up somebody to prevent another team from using him, this is the place. Our Week 16 Waiver Wire Article has some running backs on it, but also a couple additions at the tight end position, a position we know many people are desperately looking to fill right now. With that said, continue on reading to find out who made our list this week of players to pick up.
RUNNING BACKS - PICK THEM UP
Jerome Harrison (Cleveland Browns)
The Cleveland Browns as an offensive juggernaut — joke or reality? Well, the Browns won’t be mistaken for an offensive juggernaut anytime soon, but after putting up 41 points with two kick returns for touchdowns and seeing running back Jerome Harrison rush for a team record 286 yards, that’s enough for us to take notice. Harrison ran the ball 34 times for his 286 yards and also had three touchdowns. Chris Jennings, the other Cleveland running back expected to see some carries, ran just seven times for 18 yards. Harrison won’t come close to touching that number of yards in a game again, but the Browns know that any chance for success lies in their ability to get their ground game going. Considering how well Harrison played last week, we would expect him to receive 20 or more carries again next week against a poor Oakland Raiders’ rush defense, though Jennings isn’t out of the picture yet.
