A lot of times going into the Super Bowl, people without teams to root for will simply wish to see a good game instead of picking one team over the other. That is, of course, unless that person has money on the game or if you’re still in the running for a championship in a fantasy football playoff challenge bracket. The Bruno Boys Playoff Challenge saw 308 entries try their hand at beating the Bruno Boys, and a lot of them succeeded, but only one can be the champion. From all of us at Bruno Boys we congratulate the entry Jints Do It by B. Higgins, as the winner of this year’s playoff challenge. That entry finished as the only one with more than 500 points, checking in at 502. Having to set the entry for the conference championship games and the Super Bowl at the same time, Jints Do It featured players exclusively from the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints, four of which registered double-digit points totals, racking up 99 points for the Super Bowl alone. Many were close though, so let’s take a look at how the top 10 finished.
1. Jints Do It, B. Higgins — 502 points — $25 Gift Card
2. Flynn entry, M. Flynn — 496 points — $15 Gift Card
3. Rounders, J. Jurist — 495 points — $10 Gift Card
4. Biehler entry, L. Biehler — 488 points
5. Huddlehof, C. Hofmeister — 482 points
6. Browns Man, B. Short — 477 points
7. Razorbacks, R. Wolfe — 472 points
8. sKat Chenller, S. Kandler — 468 points
9. SuperSwarmer, B. Randall — 466 points
10. jbdsm, J. Bertocki — 463 points
As you can see from that list, no member of the Bruno Boys finished in the top 10. In fact, the top Bruno Boys ended up being Mike Whooley, who finished tied for 28th place. His 436 points edged out Bruno Boys Allie (BBFG) be just one point. Here’s a look at how the rest of the Bruno Boys did. Spoiler Alert: If you’re a Bruno Boys yourself, you may not want to see this:
t-28. Bruno Boys Whooley, Mike Whooley — 436 points
t-32. Bruno Boys Allie (BBFG), A.F. — 435 points
t-44. Bruno Boys Lerman, Jacob Lerman — 426 points
t-46. Bruno Boys Kyle, Kyle Smith — 425 points
52. Bruno Boys Nate, Nate Edelman — 423 points
t-53. Bruno Boys Hallam, Ryan Hallam — 422 points
t-67. Bruno Boys Cavigs, Marc Caviglia — 410 points
t-86. Bruno Boys Cory, Cory Steger — 402 points
92. Bruno Boys Josh, Josh Fasulo — 400 points
t-106. Bruno Boys Greg, Greg Warnock — 391 points
179. Bruno Boys Larry, Larry Joseph — 339 points
Now that the playoff challenge is complete we can also take a look at some fun statistics. Scoring the most points in the wild card round was the sKat Chenller entry (S. Kandler), registering a whopping 184 points. We had a tie for the top spot in the divisional round as entries TarHeel136 (T. Kolar) and rothkorebells (R. King) both tallied 143 points. In the conference championship round the entry of Ronnie D (R. DiMaggio) racked up an impressive 155 points. Four entries cracked 100 points for the Super Bowl but it was the entry of cwfoot (C. Wright) that took the top spot with 108 points.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning was the most popular pick for the Super Bowl, checking in at 59.2 percent. Though that’s an impressive number it doesn’t top how many people picked Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the wild card round when he was selected by 64.5 percent of the entries. Here are the most popular players by position as well as which round they saw their popularity spike.
QB - Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) - 65.4 percent (wild card round)
RB - Ray Rice (Baltimore Ravens) - 54.8 percent (divisional round)
WR - Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys) - 46.8 percent (wild card round)
TE - Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys) - 38.9 percent (conference championship)
K - Matt Stover (Indianapolis Colts) - 33.7 percent (conference championship/Super Bowl)
D/ST - Indianapolis Colts - 32.5 percent (conference championship/Super Bowl)

Bruno Boys Whooley - How original with your “Who Dat” line. The New Orleans Saints just called the Bruno Boys headquarters and they are accusing us of copyright over your comment. Good work and you will be paying the fines!
All kidding aside, good work making a late surge during the Championship and Super Bowl round and coming out as the top Bruno Boys staff member. Thought BBFG had you beat but that Austin Collie catch and Joseph Addai run late in the fourth was the difference maker.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the 2009 Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge and a big congratulations to everyone who beat up on us Bruno Boys in the challenge. Enjoy it while you can because next year we will destroy you all!
It’s been a great 2009 Bruno Boys Nation and it’s time to start prepping for the 2010 season.

Cory…enjoy your “reign” as staff league champion…I’m coming after you…Whooley…you topped me by one point in the Challenge…we would have tied if Saints had kicked the PAT instead of the two-point conversion…but okay…you finished ahead of me…congrats…AND finally…while all you BBers were busy crushing on Peyton Manning…who was the only one among us to pick the Saints over the Colts? Exactly…it was the girl!
