Bye weeks are over, and fantasy football owners now have their full allotment of wide receivers available to them for the remainder of the season. And it is a season that is rapidly nearing its denouement, with just a few weeks remaining until the fantasy football playoffs start. In the meantime, we’ll do our best to try and help you put the best lineup on the field with the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week 11 Wide Receiver Rankings.
1. Andre Johnson (Houston Texans) vs. Tennessee
The Tennessee Titans have allowed three more touchdown passes than any other team in the NFL, and when these two teams first squared off, in Week 2, Johnson torched Tennessee for 149 on 10 receptions and two touchdowns. After this game, Titans owner Bud Adams will want to throw his middle finger in the air at Johnson’s direction instead of at fans.
Point Projection: 20 points
2. Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals) @ St. Louis
Fitzgerald caught seven passes for 73 yards last week as the Cardinals took down the Seattle Seahawks, and this week he goes to St. Louis and plays against a team that he has traditionally devoured. He has scored six touchdowns over his last six meetings with the Rams. He’ll make that at least seven touchdowns over his last seven meetings after this week.
Point Projection: 19 points
3. Randy Moss (New England Patriots) vs. NY Jets
Over his last four games, Moss has scored six touchdowns and three times had at least 125 receiving yards, including last week when he had nine receptions for 179 yards and two scores. More people would be talking about his performance if Bill Belichick didn’t gamble and lose on a fourth-down play, but you can bet the Jets will take notice. He had a lousy game against them in Week 2, but that won’t happen again.
Point Projection: 19 points
4. Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) @ Baltimore
Wayne’s spectacular move in the final seconds of Indy’s come-from-behind win over the New England Patriots last week that resulted in a touchdown was a prime example of why he puts up the numbers he does on a routine basis. He ended that contest with 10 receptions for 126 yards and two touchdowns, and should have no problem continuing to put up steadily great numbers the rest of the season, including this week.
Point Projection: 18 points
5. Vincent Jackson (San Diego Chargers) @ Denver
Jackson was startlingly uninvolved in San Diego’s win over the Eagles last week, with a meager one catch for 10 yards on only three targets. His poor outing marked the end of a four-game streak with at least one touchdown catch, a streak that began in Week 6 against the very same Broncos team he’ll line up against this week.
Point Projection: 17 points
6. Calvin Johnson (Detroit Lions) vs. Cleveland
Lots of streaks come to an end for opposing offensive players when they face the Browns, and that will be true this week of Johnson. He hasn’t scored since Week 2, but now that he’s healthy and has had more of a chance to work with Matthew Stafford, he’ll find the end zone for the second time this season on Sunday.
Point Projection: 17 points
7. Brandon Marshall (Denver Broncos) vs. San Diego
Marshall had a season-high 134 receiving yards last week on five receptions, including two for scores. It was his second consecutive game with at least 100 receiving yards, and it seems he’s back to the player we have seen the last couple seasons. Unfortunately, Kyle Orton got injured and had to leave the game, and Chris Simms was not good as his replacement. We’ll see how much, if at all, that ends up hurting Marshall, but he’s too talented not to produce regardless of his quarterback (unless it’s JaMarcus Russell).
Point Projection: 17 points
8. Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers) vs. Miami **THURSDAY NIGHT GAME**
For the seventh straight game, Smith had fewer than 100 receiving yards last week, and for the third straight game, he had less than five receptions. But what he did do was catch two touchdown passes, tripling his total for the season. If his rib injury isn’t deemed serious, he should be able to exploit a Miami pass defense that is 27th in the NFL.
Point Projection: 16 points
9. Anquan Boldin (Arizona Cardinals) @ St. Louis
Boldin tied his season-high with eight catches last Sunday, and set a season-high with 105 receiving yards, his first game this season with at least 85 yards. And like his teammate, Larry Fitzgerald, Boldin has gorged himself statistically against the Rams over his career. He has scored five times and has amassed four 100-yard games in his 10 career contests against St. Louis.
Point Projection: 16 points
10. Steve Smith (New York Giants) vs. Atlanta
Smith caught a touchdown pass for the Giants in their last game, which was a Week 9 loss to the Chargers. It was his first touchdown catch in four games, though he has now gone five games without a 100-yard receiving day. There is an excellent chance of that changing this week, however, as the Giants take on the Falcons, who are a woeful 28th in the NFL against the pass.
Point Projection: 16 points
11. Roddy White (Atlanta Falcons) @ New York Giants
White battled through a knee malady to catch seven passes for 98 yards in Atlanta’s disappointing loss to the Panthers. Though he has a tough match-up this week in terms of possible yards against a Giants team that is second in the NFL in pass defense, it’s more than reasonable to assume he’ll latch on to a touchdown pass considering that he hasn’t scored in two weeks, and only six teams have allowed more passing scores than New York.
Point Projection: 16 points
12. Wes Welker (New England Patriots) vs. NY Jets
Last week, Welker had nine catches for 94 yards, and it was the sixth time in the seven games he’s played this season that he had at least eight catches for 80 yards. New York still has a solid pass defense, despite their team stumbling of late, but the Patriots’ offense is going too well right now for them to be tripped up.
Point Projection: 15 points
13. Hines Ward (Pittsburgh Steelers) @ Kansas City
Ward has one of his more disappointing games of the season last week as his squad fell to the Bengals, as he caught just four passes for 24 yards. It was his third straight week of accumulating fewer than 50 receiving yards after not going under that mark in any previous game. But he has a very good match-up this week, and a bounce back should be expected.
Point Projection: 14 points
14. Marques Colston (New Orleans Saints) @ Tampa Bay
If the real Marques Colston wants to come on back so his fantasy owners can actually get some points out of him, that’d be great, because the last two weeks, he’s done little. Last Sunday, he caught a measly two passes for 17 yards, and over his last two games has three receptions for 62 yards and no scores. But there’s hope for him yet. Tampa has allowed more touchdowns through the air than all but two teams this season.
Point Projection: 13 points
15. Sidney Rice (Minnesota Vikings) vs. Seattle
It’s fantastic that Rice is getting all these yards – he had 201 last week against the Detroit Lions – but it would be even, um, fantastic-er if he would get in the end zone. He’s crossed the goal line just two times this season, and not once since Week 4. Still, he’s offered excellent production of late, with more than 135 receiving yards in three of his last four contests.
Point Projection: 13 points
16. Chad Ochocinco (Cincinnati Bengals) @ Oakland
Overall, it was a great day for the Bengals, but not so much for the Ocho. After being fined for his dollar bill stunt the previous week, he was held to a season-low two receptions for 29 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers. We’re going to go ahead and call this an aberration because Ochocinco has been otherwise stellar this season.
Point Projection: 13 points
17. Greg Jennings (Green Bay Packers) vs. San Francisco **CHECK INJURY STATUS**
Jennings led the Packers with seven targets last week in their win over the franchise that used to be America’s Team, and he collected four catches for 41 yards. While those numbers aren’t overwhelming, and he may miss some practice with a knee contusion this week, there’s plenty to like about his match-up with the 29th-ranked pass defense of the San Francisco 49ers.
Point Projection: 12 points
18. Donald Driver (Green Bay Packers) vs. San Francisco
Like his teammate Jennings, Driver has a very good match-up to exploit this week when he and his teammates play San Francisco. When he does so, he can make up for the four catches and 50 yards he gave his fantasy football owners last week, which was the fewest amount of fantasy points he’d collected since Week 4.
Point Projection: 12 points
19. Mike Sims-Walker (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Buffalo
Sims-Walker didn’t tear up the New York Jets, he had just three receptions for 49 yards, but he did find the end zone, which made fantasy football owners plenty happy. He has another very tough match-up this week, however, against a Buffalo Bills pass defense that is ranked ninth in the NFL and that has allowed fewer passing scores than all but one team.
Point Projection: 12 points
20. Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Washington
Austin had his first real lousy game last week since becoming a starter for the Cowboys as he caught four passes for only 20 yards and was bottled up trying to pick up yards after the catch. He has just five catches over the last two weeks, and he’ll have a tough assignment this week as well, but seeing the way Brandon Marshall played against the Washington Redskins offers some encouragement that Austin can make things happen as well.
Point Projection: 12 points
21. Santonio Holmes (Pittsburgh Steelers) @ Kansas City
We predicted a score for Holmes last week, and he didn’t come through, so we won’t be fooled two weeks in a row. What he did do last week, however, was catch seven passes for a team-high 88 yards, and he should be able to duplicate or improve on those numbers against a Kansas City Chiefs. pass defense that is 24th in the league.
Point Projection: 11 points
22. DeSean Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Chicago
Jackson was targeted a robust 16 times as the Eagles tried to pass their way back into their game against the San Diego Chargers. Jackson managed to catch eight of those throws, but didn’t get his typical big play, and gained only 91 receiving yards. He’s had a couple stinkers, but against a Chicago Bears defense that has allowed bushels of passing scores this season, he’s a solid option.
Point Projection: 11 points
23. Nate Burleson (Seattle Seahawks) @ Minnesota
Epic disaster. That’s a good way to describe Burleson’s day on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Zero catches. Zero yards. And most importantly, zero fantasy points. There is also zero chance of that happening again, not against a Minnesota Vikings pass defense that is just 23rd in the NFL and 20th in passing touchdowns allowed.
Point Projection: 11 points
24. Roy Williams (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Washington
Williams’ play of late – 10 catches for 180 yards and one touchdown over his last two games – has been a nice indicator that he isn’t totally useless to fantasy football owners. In fact, it’s been downright encouraging to see what he’s done. But temper expectations a bit this week against the Washington Redskins and their No. 1 ranked pass defense.
Point Projection: 11 points
25. T.J. Houshmandzadeh (Seattle Seahawks) @ Minnesota
Housh wanted the ball, and he got the ball. With a whopping 17 targets last week, Houshmandzadeh collected season-highs with nine receptions for 165 yards – and still didn’t get into the end zone. That’s been something of a trend for him this season, with touchdown catches in just two of his nine games on the year. Still, he should put together another solid yardage afternoon for his fantasy football owners.
Point Projection: 10 points

Already have Moss and Andre Johnson starting in my PPR league, who should I start as my 3rd WR - Lee Evans vs. Jags or Steve Breaston vs. STL?
I am also starting Mendenhall and Pierre Thomas at RB over Bernard Scott and Ryan Grant - a tough call too, but think I’m safe with this one.
Help me out?
