Don’t believe the kicker position is important? Just ask those owners who got a big boost from Rob Bironas’ 19 points or Jay Feely’s 16 points in week 14. Or, better yet, ask their opponents. Kickers can get you points, so be sure to check out the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week 15 Kicker Rankings.

1. Rob Bironas (Tennessee Titans) vs. Miami

Bironas’ fantasy owners couldn’t have asked for anything more last week. Well, if they’re greedy they could have. The Titans’ kicker made four-of-four field goals, including one from 50-yards out, and added 5 extra points for a 19 point fantasy day in the Titans shellacking of St. Louis. Bironas has double digit fantasy points over his last seven games, making him the hottest kicker to own in the world of fantasy. If you’re lucky enough to have him on your roster, start him.
Point Projection: 14 points

2. Matt Prater (Denver Broncos) vs. Oakland

As expected, Prater’s streak of 15-point games came to an end at two as the Colts held the Broncos’ down for most of the game in week 14. The good news is that Prater could very well start a new streak this weekend against the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have allowed the 6th most fantasy points to the kicker position on the year. In fact, they allowed Prater to rack up 12 fantasy points in their first meeting of the year.
Point Projection: 14 points

3. David Akers (Philadelphia Eagles) vs. San Francisco

With just one outing of less than 7 points on the season, Akers is Mr. Consistent when it comes to the kicking position - a true rarity in the world of fantasy football. With the 49ers allowing 7.7 points per contest to the kicking position, expect Mr. Consistent to once again be just that.
Point Projection: 12 points

4. Lawrence Tynes (New York Giants) @ Washington

Tynes’ owners have to be pleased as the Giants’ kicker has now notched 7 to 9 fantasy points in each of the team’s last five games. If they are, they’ll be even happier this week as we look for Tynes to exceed those numbers with a solid double digit performance. And, why not? He did so against these Washington Redskins in week 1 of the season.
Point Projection: 11 points

5. Olindo Mare (Seattle Seahawks) vs. Tampa Bay

Ok, so Mare had just one fantasy point in the Seahawk’s miserable loss to the Houston Texans in week 14. That doesn’t mean you should shy away from him this week. Mare is quietly putting together a very solid season as the 12th best fantasy kicker. With the Seahawks going at home against the Bucs, who give up 27.4 points per game, we expect Seattle to post more than the one TD they got in week 14.
Point Projection: 11 points

6. Neil Rackers / Mike Nugent (Arizona Cardinals) @ Detroit

Fantasy owners should be aware that Neil Rackers, the Cardinals’ regular kicker, is in jeopardy of missing this week’s contest due to a groin injury. As such, the team signed Mike Nugent. Whoever gets the start makes for a great play so pay attention to this one carefully as the Lions are allowing the most fantasy points to kickers this season.
Point Projection: 11 points

7. Nate Kaeding (San Diego Chargers) vs. Cincinnati

With the San Diego Chargers clicking on all fronts, kicker Nate Kaeding is a guy you want in your fantasy line-up. Over the last five weeks, the Chargers’ kicker has averaged an impressive 11.2 fantasy points per contest. Whenever you can get RB2 numbers from your kicker, it’s time to start them.
Point Projection: 10 points

8. Garrett Hartley (New Orleans Saints) vs. Dallas

Since taking over for veteran John Carney, Hartley has gone six-for-seven on field goals in two games. That production has led the Saints kicker to an impressive 22 points over that span. This week’s battle with the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday Night looks to be one in which the Saints light up the scoreboard; then again, what game isn’t like that this season? As such, roll with Hartley.
Point Projection: 10 points

9. Ryan Longwell (Minnesota Vikings) @ Carolina

Don’t think because he’s ranked just ninth that Longwell’s value has diminished. After all, the Vikings’ kicker does have 14 points in two of his last three games. We just like a few other kickers better this week as we expect the Vikings to finish off their drives against the Carolina Panthers, whose porous rush defense will have trouble shutting down Adrian Peterson.
Point Projection: 10 points

10. Matt Stover (Indianapolis Colts) @ Jacksonville

The Indianapolis Colts mustered just 14 fantasy points in their week 1 match-up against the Jacksonville Jaguars, not exactly conducive to a strong fantasy output for the team’s kicker. This go around, things should be different. The Colts have gotten on track since that week 1 showing, posting an average of 27.6 points per game, while Jacksonville is allowing 22.1 points per game. Stover should be in for a solid day.
Point Projection: 9 points

11. Kris Brown (Houston Texans) @ St. Louis

Brown’s accuracy may be a concern for his fantasy owners as he’s only connected on seven of his last twelve attempts. Still, the Texans’ kicker squares off against the St. Louis Rams’ this week, so even if he misses a kick here or there, he’ll still rack up the fantasy points much like he did in week 14 when he amassed eight fantasy points despite missing two field goal attempts against the Seahawks.
Point Projection: 9 points

12. Nick Folk (Dallas Cowboys) @ New Orleans

We’re crazy right? Ranking Nick Folk, who has not exceeded five fantasy points since week 9, this high in our rankings. But, let us make a case for our sanity. The Dallas Cowboys will head to the Superdome this week to take on the New Orleans Saints, which means two things. Folk will be kicking indoors and the Cowboys will need to score big to have any chance whatsoever to end their December woes. Both of those things should contribute to a solid day for the Cowboys’ kicker.
Point Projection: 9 points

13. Ryan Succop (Kansas City Chiefs) vs. Cleveland

Succop is a hit or miss type kicker with six games of four or less fantasy points and six games of eight or more on the season. Against a woeful Browns’ defense, we expect Succop to add to his eight or more number, especially with the Chiefs getting wide receiver Dwayne Bowe back, adding an extra play maker to their offense.
Point Projection: 8 points

14. Rian Lindell (Buffalo Bills) vs. New England

With four straight games of 8+ fantasy points, Lindell is coming up strong just when his fantasy owners need him to. The Bills’ kicker will go against a New England Patriots’ defense this week that he tallied 7 fantasy points against back in week 1 of the season. Another solid outing is in the mix, extending his streak of 8+ fantasy performances to five.
Point Projection: 8 points

15. Jay Feely (New York Jets) vs. Atlanta

Thirty fantasy points combined over the past two weeks cannot be ignored. Still, we can’t put complete trust in Feely here in week 15 for two big reasons. First, there’s the wind factor in the Meadowlands in December. Then, there’s the fact that we think Atlanta will have a tough time keeping Thomas Jones out of the end-zone. He should still be solid, just not as good as he has been.
Point Projection: 8 points

16. Shayne Graham (Cincinnati Bengals) @ San Diego

After scoring 12 fantasy points in each of his two previous games, Graham was only able to manage four points in Week 14 as the Bengals were blown out by the Minnesota Vikings. This week, the Bengals will once again be in a dog fight and if the game stays close throughout we should see a healthy dosage of kicking chances out of Graham. However if the Bengals struggle all afternoon you can expect to see production similar to Graham’s five fantasy points per game average from Weeks 1-7.
Point Projection: 8 points
