2009 Fantasy Football Draft Sheet
2009 Fantasy Football Draft Sheet
Fleaflicker NFL Fantasy Football

With seven tight ends hitting the double digit mark in week 16, the position undoubtedly swayed some fantasy football championships. The very same could happen in week 17, so be sure to have your best option plugged into your line-up. To find out who that is, just check out the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week 17 Tight End Rankings!

1. Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Philadelphia

Witten had 117 receiving yards last week, marking his third 100-yard game of the season, and third in his last five outings. He should be able to hit the century mark once again this week against the Eagles. Philadelphia has allowed more receptions and receiving yards to opposing tight ends than any other team in the NFL.
Point Projection: 16 points

2. Vernon Davis (San Francisco 49ers) @ St. Louis

Davis caught a touchdown pass last week for the fifth time in his last six games despite an otherwise unproductive affair – three catches for 18 yards. But, the Rams will offer little in the way of defense, and remember, he already beat them for 43 yards and a score back in Week 4. Davis finishes off what’s been his best season in the league, with one of his better performances on the year.
Point Projection: 14 points

3. Brent Celek (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Dallas

Celek was on the receiving end of four passes and racked up a season-high 121 yards last week for Philly as they downed the Broncos. He also scored his third touchdown in his last four games, and this week squares off with a Dallas team that he had three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown against back in Week 9. Continue to use Celek in all fantasy formats.
Point Projection: 12 points

4. Tony Gonzalez (Atlanta Falcons) @ Tampa Bay

Gonzalez’s two catches for 17 yards last week was his second-worst performance of the season, trumped only by a one-catch, 16-yard game in Week 3 against New England. That won’t happen again this week, however, as Gonzalez will rebound against Tampa, who he had a season-high nine catches for 83 yards against in Week 12. Keep in mind also that Gonzo is just 6 receptions short of 1,000 for his career, making it likely the Falcons’ target him early and often on Sunday.
Point Projection: 11 points

5. Jermichael Finley (Green Bay Packers) @ Arizona **CHECK ON PROJECTED PLAYING TIME**

Finley is rolling at the moment, and with his three catches for 80 yards last week against Seattle, he’s now gone four straight games with at least 70 yards. He faces an Arizona team this week that has allowed the fifth-most touchdowns (tied) in the league to opposing tight ends with 8.
Point Projection: 11 points

6. Visanthe Shiancoe (Minnesota Vikings) vs. New York Giants **CHECK INJURY STATUS**

Shiancoe caught four passes for 40 yards and a touchdown last week against the Bears in Minnesota’s surprising loss. He should be good for a bunch more fantasy points this week against the Giants, who are awful against opposing tight ends. Only one team in the league has allowed more touchdowns to players at that position, only one team has given up more receptions, and just two teams have allowed more receiving yards.
Point Projection: 10 points

7. Kellen Winslow (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. Atlanta

Winslow caught four balls for 76 yards last week as the Bucs upended the Saints in the biggest upset of the season. Winslow has now accumulated 69 or more yards in four of his last five games, and this week goes head-to-head with the Falcons, who have allowed more receiving yards to opposing tight ends than all but five other teams in the NFL, and against whom Winslow had seven catches for 81 yards against in Week 12.
Point Projection: 9 points

8. Heath Miller (Pittsburgh Steelers) @ Miami

Miller came off a strong Week 15 contest with a poor outing last week, catching only three passes for 35 yards. He’ll ramp up the production this week against the Dolphins, who have given up more receiving yards to opposing tight ends than all but three other teams in the league as they have allowed 932 yards to the position on the season.
Point Projection: 9 points

9. Greg Olsen (Chicago Bears) @ Detroit

Olsen caught his first touchdown since Week 9 in Chicago’s overtime victory over the Vikings on Monday night, and also eclipsed the 40-yard mark for the first time in three weeks with a three-catch, 47-yard game. He should do additional damage this week against the Lions, a team he scored a touchdown against back in Week 4, and the team that has allowed more touchdowns to opposing tight ends than any other team in the league with 11 on the year.
Point Projection: 8 points

10. Kevin Boss (New York Giants) @ Minnesota

Boss caught five passes for 49 yards last week as the Giants were demolished by the Panthers. It was his third consecutive game with 45 or more receiving yards, a streak he should continue this week against the Vikings. Minnesota has allowed the third-most receptions in the league to opposing tight ends, the fourth-most touchdowns, and the fifth-most receiving yards.
Point Projection: 8 points

11. Fred Davis (Washington Redskins) @ San Diego

Davis was surprisingly bad at the worst possible time for fantasy owners last week against the Cowboys, when he managed only 29 yards on two receptions, ruining many a fantasy championship, presumably. He’ll likely put up better digits this week against the Chargers, but for many that will be too little, too late.
Point Projection: 7 points

12. John Carlson (Seattle Seahawks) vs. Tennessee

After essentially being dead to fantasy owners, Carlson has come alive here at the end of the season. Though he had just two receptions for 24 yards last week in Seattle’s embarrassing effort against the Packers, he did score a touchdown for the third straight game. He and his ‘Hawks teammates go up against the Titans this week, who have allowed the fourth-most receptions (tied) in the league to opposing tight ends.
Point Projection: 7 points

13. Antonio Gates (San Diego Chargers) vs. Washington

Gates caught a touchdown pass for the third consecutive game last week, in a game where he totaled three receptions for 74 yards. It was the first time in those three contests that he had 50 or more yards, and his match-up this week might be difficult. Though the Redskins aren’t shy about giving up yards to opposing tight ends, only two teams have allowed fewer touchdowns to players at that position. It doesn’t help Gates’ cause that he’ll likely be on the sideline resting for the majority of this contest.
Point Projection: 7 points

14. Zach Miller (Oakland Raiders) vs. Baltimore

As much as we loved Miller’s nine catches for 110 yards last week against the Browns, Baltimore offers a much stiffer test to opposing tight ends. Only one team in the league has allowed fewer receptions to opposing tight ends, and only one team has allowed players at that position to gain fewer yards.
Point Projection: 6 points

15. Dallas Clark (Indianapolis Colts) @ Buffalo **CHECK ON PROJECTED PLAYING TIME**

Even if Clark plays about a half of football, he can still be somewhat productive, as he showed last week with four catches and 57 yards. But, we simply cannot recommend him with the knowledge that he’ll have such little playing time this week.
Point Projection: 5 points
