Hello Bruno Boys Nation!
My name is Jordan Zucker and I run and all girls fantasy football website called Girls’ Guide to Fantasy Football (GG2FF). Basically, I encourage women worldwide to participate in fantasy football leagues. I’m more of a ringleader than a guru, but that doesn’t stop me from talking like one. GG2FF offers weekly videos geared towards female appreciation of the game. Last year I did weekly video recaps that had routine segments but different musical themes. This year we’re changing gears and doing interviews with “Girls’ Guide to Fantasy Football Presents: Where in the NFL World is Jordan Zucker?!?!” and you’ll have to tune in to find out which player’s lap I show up on every week.
I am the fantasy football commissioner of a few all girls leagues, but the original, League Home Sauce, had its live draft last Thursday, September 3, 2009 and as usual, it was our favorite night of the year. Our good friends Bruno Boys Fantasy Football and CommishKit Draft Boards sponsored the draft and supplied us with a 12-team Draft Board for our special night. The Draft Board will now be up for display for the length of the fantasy football season! Just to show you how dedicated our league is we even had our two NY-ers attend the draft via video chat. Now that’s dedication!
It’s tradition that League Home Sauce has an official draft day cocktail and this year it was the Dark and Stormy (yes, it has to be made with Goslings rum and ginger beer - not ale). Our league is a keeper league and then a snake draft that starts round 2 in reverse order of last season’s standings. I came in 3rd last year so I kept Matt Forte (it was between him and Deangelo Williams) and then had pick No. 22 in a 12-team league.
Now let’s take a look at my team, Pocket Rulers:
1. (K) Matt Forte, RB, Chicago Bears
2. (22) Greg Jennings, WR, Green Bay Packers
3. (27) T.J. Houshmandzadeh, WR, Seattle Seahawks
4. (46) Tony Gonzalez, TE Atllanta Falcons
5. (55) Beanie Wells, RB Arizona Cardinals
6. (74) Matt Schaub, QB Houston Texans
7. (79) Willie Parker, RB Pittsburgh Steelers
8. (98) Torry Holt, WB Jacksonville Jaguars
9. (103) Minnesota Vikings D/ST
10. (122) Felix Jones, RB Dallas Cowboys
11. (126) Matt Hasselbeck, QB Seattle Seahawks
12. (145) Josh Morgan, WR San Francisco 49ers
13. (150) Percy Harvin, WR Minnesota Vikings
14. (169) Anthony Fasano, TE Miami Dolphins
15. (174) Nick Folk. K, Dallas Cowboys
A little risky with the Chris “Beanie” Wells pick at No.55, but getting a “Fast” Willie Parker steal in the seventh round makes me feel better about it. I also think I hit the panic button with the Matt Schaub pick in the sixth round as all of my targeted QBs were already off the board, but again, my backup Matt Hasselbeck should be solid and allow me to play match-ups. We shall see how it turns out but I like my squad as we enter Week 1 of the fantasy football season!
Make sure to tune in next week as I will take a look at how my fantasy team is progressing in League Home Sauce!
Touchback with you next week!

Great Stuff Jordan. Welcome to the Bruno Boys and I am sure many will enjoy your article on a weekly basis.
I am liking your fantasy squad. You scored some big talent with upside later in the draft. Perhaps no true RB2 but with Felix Jones, Willie Parker and Beanie Wells you can play matchups at your RB2 position each week.
Also, I wouldn’t worry about a Matt Schaub and Matt Hasselbeck quarterback combo. When healthy, Schaub performed as a top 5 fantasy football QB in 2008 and with the Houston Texans’ offense only getting better he hasn’t reached his ceiling. Plus, Hasselbeck is a serviceable QB2 that you can use when Schaub is faced with a tough opponent.
Solid Work.

I think this is Fantastic. I am a huge fan of Fantasy Football and think it is great to see a all womens league. I have been in a 12 team,2 keeper, non-ppr league for the past 3 years. I am the only female on this league and this year I was voted the Commish! Probably because it entails work so why not let the “lone woman” do it! I have always been a fan of football even as alittle girl, sitting next to my Dad on Sundays in my Miami Dolphins Bob Griese jersey! Yes I said it, I have been a longtime Dolphins fan! Fantasy football definitely takes the sport to a higher level. My husband loves football season even more since we’ve started playing, my alter ego “Chrissy” comes out, who is very aggressive and competitive. This seems to be quite the turn on! I would suggest that all woman give fantasy a try, especially single women. Men love it when you can talk stats and players, rather than “oh I’ll pick that team ‘cause I like the color of there uniforms”, Ugh…yuck! Anyways ladies I think it’s great and if you ever have an opening on your league let me know! Hey “BOYS” it’s Chrissyffl your #1 fan!!

Jordan—
You go girl! You’re doing a fantastic service to fantasy football by bringing more female fans and helping the guys out - teaching women about the joys of FFL.
I love fantasy football and have been playing for the last 8 years in a couple co-ed teams. We need more women to play - I’d love to be on an all-girls team! Unfortunately, I think there are far too many ladies out there who feel like fantasy widows. (Did you know there’s an entire site devoted to Women Against Fantasy Football???)
We recently had a blog debate about fantasy football on our website:
Go to a Fantasy Football Draft or a Friend’s Wedding?
There seem to be quite a few women that think fantasy football is frivolous. Take a read and weigh in - I could use some female supporters!
Keep it up Jordan - your blog is great!
