It’s fantasy football crunch time! In the majority of league’s, Week 13 marks the last week before the fantasy football playoffs. Some playoff spots have already been decided in your league however many owners remain in playoff contention down the stretch. A key waiver wire addition can still make a big difference for those who have a playoff spot virtually cemented as they try to fortify rosters for a playoff run, and a good addition can also propel owners on the fringe of playoff contention into a spot in the postseason.
If you find yourself in need of a little roster refreshing for the most important week of the season, take a look at our “Week 13 Waiver Wire Pick Them Ups” list for recommendations at each position.
Quick Note: If you want to drop a player to add one of the players from this article, make sure to check out the Fantasy Football Waiver Wire - Cut Them Loose article and see if anyone on your roster is a Bruno Boys’ recommendation to drop. QUARTERBACKS - PICK THEM UP
Sam Bradford (St. Louis Rams)
Bradford had his first career 300-yard game against the Denver Broncos in Week 12, as he threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns in the game. He now has 10 touchdowns over his past five games with only one interception over that span. The rookie from Oklahoma has put up at least 11 fantasy points in six straight games, and his upcoming schedule (Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers) should lend itself well to continued production right through the fantasy playoffs. Bradford could be a low-end QB1 over the next few weeks, and is currently available in over half of Yahoo! leagues.
Jon Kitna (Dallas Cowboys)
Kitna threw for 313 yards against the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving Day, and has now thrown for over 300 yards in three of his five starts since taking over for Tony Romo (fractured collarbone). The Cowboys’ offense as a whole has been productive lately, scoring at least 26 points in three straight games, and Kitna has plenty of weapons at his disposal if everyone stays healthy. He has a favorable looking schedule in Week 15 (Washington Redskins) and Week 16 (Arizona Cardinals), so he could be a difference maker in many fantasy leagues. The possible return of Romo could throw a wrench into Kitna’s fantasy prospects, but for now he is still available in 68 percent of Yahoo! leagues and is worth consideration if you need a quarterback down the stretch.
