Hi everyone, Im new here.

This is my first season of fantasy football ever, and Im just playing a single standard scoring 10 team, regular yahoo 3WR/2RB setup. While not a money league, it is for prizes, so that’s what made me decide to try FF out… and 9 weeks later, I am absolutely hooked!

I love the micro-management of trades and bench/start decisions, the chaos that ensues each week on Sunday and working the waiver wire skillfully during the aftermath.

I have enjoyed football in the past, but Im just not a huge sports fan. I hadnt actually followed a team or a season in general in years… and now all of a sudden I am watching what few games I can manage to see (that involve players on my team) on my non-cable TV, and even listening to sports radio play-by-play radio for the first time in my life!

Since I am a very detail and research oriented sort of person, I have read a ton of material from all over the internet this fantasy season. Bruno Boys is hands down the best resource on the net. I still check a few other sites for their data-crunching charts or whatever, but BB are who I really give the most weight to when trying to make a tough decision.

Speaking of which, I should really go find where to post for sit/start advice. Im in 4th place in the league, so I NEED to win a few to at least hold that place and make the playoffs. Fortunately, while in 4th place, I am 2nd in points by a long shot, so if I tie on win/loss i will at least stay ahead. Only about half the league owners are participating beyond just bench/start, so there is plenty of talent on the waver wire, but very few people interested in making trades.

Welcome to the game!  This is my first season as well, and I’m having a blast.  Like you, there’s very little activity on the trading block, and only 3 others are active on the Waiver grabs, so I’m having a good time grabbing whoever I want.  (Will be looking for a more competitive league next year, though.  I’d prefer the challenge.)  Any questions you have are answered relatively quickly in the Fantasy Advice forum.  The Trade Advice forum is also very active.  The rest are frequented less often, but you probably won’t need those for much.
