Just like we did for the Bruno Boys Fan League Drafts we are going to create a Forum for our Staff Draft tonight.  You will be able to check here throughout the draft to see who is being picked in what round and to get a feel for some of the Bruno Boys Staff Members drafting philosophies.

Once the draft is finished we will have different members from the Staff place their team in the Forum and let you, the Bruno Boys Nation, rank our squads. Sound Good?

Below is the drafting order….

1 - Bruno Boys Jake

2 - Bruno Boys Ziza

3 - Bruno Boys Kyle

4 - Bruno Boys Hallam

5 - Bruno Boys Matt

6 - Bruno Boys Dominic

7 - Bruno Boys Cory

8 - Bruno Boys Larry

9 - Bruno Boys Greg

10 - Bruno Boys Whooley

11 - Bruno Boys Jimbo

12 - Bruno Boys Cavigs

With this league being a stadard scoring, non PPR league we all can guess who Bruno Boys Jacob will snag with the No. 1 pick but the verdict is still out as to what Bruno Boys Ziza will do with the No.2 overall pick.

Check back to see how the draft plays out….

Yes sir, two years in the making but the Bruno Boys staff draft is back and in full force. As Cavigs said, we will be updating you with how the draft is playing out. I am sitting at #2. While I much prefer the mid-to-later part of the draft, being able to snag3 of the top 26 players on my board will be a nice change of pace. Who will it be? Turner, Forte, MJD, my main man Tomlinson? You won’t know until I post. Haha. With that being said I am looking forward to seeing what I can bring to the table. I am hoping for 2 solid RB’s and 1 WR with my first three but you never know how the draft plays out while sitting at the ends of the draft. You have to strategize a bit more with every pick knowing that it will be a good 21 picks until I draft again every other round.

With that being said, if anyone in the Bruno Boys Nation had the #2 pick, which direction would you go? I have already made up my mind but it would be nice to hear everyone’s ideas.

Damn, just thought of something as well! This is the first time since I have moved to Reno that I get to be in a league with my good buddy Larry Joseph. Larry, best of luck in the draft braheem. Let’s represent Detroit Rock City.

Yes Ziza, my crazy polish buddy, it has been a while since we have been in a league together and I am really looking forward to this draft. We have been in some pretty good drafts together in the past, but this should be one heck of a draft tonight. This Bruno Boys staff league will be very comepetitive.

Good luck in this draft tonight everyone and happy drafting.

Bruno Boys Matt - 07 September 2009 06:56 PM

I sure hope Vick falls to me at #5…

I am trading up from the 12 spot just so I can land Vick right before you Matt.

Here we go…

round 1 took turner at #2. I like his potential with TG now in Atlanta to spread the D.

I went Andre Johnson at 1.12 and turned a lot of heads by going Brian Wesbrook at 2.01.  Westbrook is falling down lots of draft boards but the Philly offense is arguably the best in the NFC and even if he loses touches to LeSean McCoy he is still a 12+ point per game option when healthy.

Plus I like track record over a guy who has just had one solid season.

We shall see.

After two picks I am happy to land D. Williams and G. Jenning from the No. 8 spot. Was hoping for a RB at 2, but they fell off the board. I do like Jennings a lot this year.

Three rounds:

1.1 Adrian Peterson
2.12 Steve Smith
3.1 Peyton Manning

I’m really not in love with Steve Smith, but I feel that he’s always going to post some spectacular games. Just have to look for some stability in the WR corps the rest of the way.

After three rounds I am sitting with Turner and Ryan Grant as my starting backs and Colston as my WR1. Not too shabby.

Draft is going as I expected.  Everyone did their homework and they aren’t letting any great value slip to me considering I am drafting in the 12 hole.

So far I have

Andre Johnson
Brian Westbrook
Darren McFadden (got my guy I think McFadden has a huge season and cements himself as a 1st rounder in 2010. We shall see)
Dwayne Bowe (debated between Bowe and Witten but couldn’t take Witten this early - as I feel he is worthy of a start of the 5th round pick)

Team through 4 rounds:
1. LaDainian Tomlinson, RB, San Diego
2. Brandon Jacobs, RB, New York Giants
3. T.J. Houshmandzadeh, WR, Seattle
4. Kurt Warner, QB, Arizona

Like my backs but not thrilled with my 3rd & 4th round picks. Was hoping a top 10 receiver would fall but a huge WR run went in the 2nd round.

So far:

Gore, Moss, Owens and Rivers.

I wanted to take my second RB in the fourth round, but considering which ones are left, I’ll wait and snag one next time. I’m a fan of taking a QB later than the fourth round, but I think Rivers will have a solid season. He wouldn’t be there the next time I got to draft.

Rounds 4 and 5 I grabbed Ray Rice as my RB3 while there are teams yeat to have a RB2 and then followed that with a WR1 talent in Brandon Marshall who has no nutsack. But if he pulls head out of his ass, grabbing him here will pay off. If not, a wasted 5th round pick. Not worried about it.
