Ryan Boser | Staff Writer

Ryan’s first brush with gridiron greatness came as an eight-year-old, when he earned a berth in the Midwestern National Run, Punt and Pass Tournament. A wayward punt dropped him to third place and his career has been in a downward spiral ever since. He eventually picked up the pieces and moved to Chicago, where he lives out his football fantasies from a dark apartment with a MacBook and an unhealthy chip on his shoulder. A self-described cynical Minnesota sports blogger, Boser got his start in the fantasy industry with Paul Charchian’s FantasyVictory.com and KFAN AM 1130’s Fantasy Football Weekly. He has since contributed to numerous other web and media outlets. This is Boser’s first season as a contributing writer with Bruno Boys. Follow Ryan on Twitter @MN_CheapSeats.
2011 Fantasy Football Tip: Every season drafters inevitably face the mid-round decision between a proven, boring veteran and a flashy rookie with loads of upside. With the 2011 offseason programs destroyed by the lockout, I’m buying stock in geriatrics come Draft Day. Veterans in situations of continuity should have a real advantage over the kids. They don’t need the extra reps, they have established roles, and the lockout reduced wear and tear on their bodies. Anybody (rookies, free agents and new coaches) learning new systems and playbooks are at a severe disadvantage. While no one wants to draft Meryl Streep when Blake Lively is still on the board, this is the year to opt for “safety” over “sexy.”
