Check out Marc Caviglia’s fantasy football rankings and hot takes on the Week 6 kicker matchups:
- As you know, I love projecting kickers value each week and feel that finding the right matchup leads to a huge edge amongst your competition. This week, that guy is Zane Gonzalez of the Arizona Cardinals. He has attempted just 2 field goals over his last three games, both makes and from over 40 yards but this should be the week that Gonzalez gets his kicking chances. The Over/Under in this game is set at 54.5, which means the experts feel there will be a ton of points and on top of that, the Dallas Cowboys rank 31st in the NFL at points allowed to opposing kickers. They give up 12.0 points per game to the position and are allowing opponents to get 6 kicking changes per game (FG & PAT.) Gonzalez is a lock for 10-plus fantasy points in Week 6.
- Some other kickers I like this week that might be available on your waiver wire are; Matt Prater, Rodrigo Blankenship, Younghoe Koo & Sam Sloman. All have favorable matchups against teams that give up a lot of opportunity to the kicker position.
- A few bigger names that might not get as many chances as you’d like include; Mason Crobsy & Harrison Butker. Both kickers are going to be kicking more PATs than FGs in my opinion, even in matchups that could be close football games. And as a full disclaimer, even if I don’t think Butker has a huge week, he still needs to be in your lineup.
Rankings are based on standard scoring:
1 point per PAT
3 points per FG under 39 yards
4 points for FG 40-49 yards
5 points for FG over 50 yards
