The 2020 NFL season is now 7 weeks old and the time is now to start picking up players from your fantasy football waiver wire and hoping they can help you secure a playoff spot. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-50 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.

Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire Quarterbacks for Week 8.

Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Carolina Panthers

After a rough game against the Chicago Bears in Week 6, Bridgewater got back on track Sunday against the New Orleans Saints (23-for-28, 254 yards and two touchdowns; 10 rushing yards). He has multiple passing touchdowns and more than 19 fantasy points in three of his last four games, with a fantastic matchup coming in Week 8.

The Atlanta Falcons entered Week 7 allowing the most fantasy points to quarterbacks (Yahoo! scoring), and the most passing touchdowns (18) as well. Holding Matthew Stafford to one touchdown pass on Sunday will improve that standing, but not enough to diminish the matchup. Back in Week 5, Bridgewater had 313 yards and two touchdowns against the Falcons.

Week 9 and Week 10 (Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) offer likely pass-heavy game scripts for Bridgewater, followed by favorable matchups in Week 11 (Detroit Lions) and Week 12 (Minnesota Vikings).

With that tough Week 6 matchup in rearview mirror, Bridgewater is a streaming candidate (assuming he qualifies) from here all the way to a Week 13 bye. He’s an absolute must-add in two-quarterback formats.
