The running backs position continues to take hits from key injuries flipping the table on some running back committees. So anything can happen. Start the wrong guy and it could be the difference of 20-30 points. Let’s see which ones do NOT look good for Week 9.

Ronald Jones, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints

The presence of Leonard Fournette is just dragging the prospects of Jones. While Fournette sat injured, Jones rattled off three 100-yard games. Since then, Jones has 57 combined rushing yards and 25 receiving yards over the last two games sharing touches with Fournette. Jones needs that volume to be to give his owners a chance. The other problem is that the Saints can be a brutal team to run against.

They’ve allowed just two running backs to gain over 80 yards against them. Only two backs have caught touchdowns against them. At best, a single back is looking at high flex numbers against the Saints. In a split backfield where all the passes go to Fournette, Jones will likely need a touchdown–just to get to 8.0 fantasy points.
