#1 Tampa Bay Rays vs. #4 New York Yankees (8:07pm ET – TBS)
The Rays dismantled the Toronto Blue Jays in their first playoff series with excellent pitching and timely hitting. They just continued where they left off in the regular season.
The Yankees went to a 3rd and deciding game vs Cleveland and prevailed. We got to see their offensive potential when all of their hitters are in the line up.
Today is Game 1 and we have doozy! We get Gerrit Cole for the Yanks facing off against the lefty Blake Snell for the Rays. Both are former Cy Young Award winners with electric stuff. I fully expect Cole and Snell to pitch like the aces are and this is the classic pitchers duel and what the playoffs are all about.

#2 Oakland Athletics vs. #6 Houston Astros (4:07pm ET – TBS)
The A’s fought until the end to win the winner take all game 3 against the Chicago White Sox. They had their backs against the wall after losing Game 1 but like Oakland has done all season long, they found a way to come back and take the series.
The Astros were truly a surprise beating the Minnesota Twins 2-0. The Astros trailed throughout Game 1 but found a way to tie it late and strung together a big 9th inning to get the win. In Game 2, they once again silenced Minnesota’s offense and showed how important experience is in the playoffs.
Let’s look at today’s opening game pitchers. Lance McCullers Jr vs. Chris Bassitt. After doing our research, it’s clear to us who the favorite to win this game is and why.
