The 2020 season is proving to be full of hard decisions in selecting the right waiver wire claims and knowing when to drop a player. But now players are needing navigate the COVID-19 situation as it disrupts games and schedules across the league.

It’s time to make the most crucial decision of them all–setting your lineups! Let’s about the Kickers.

Kickers are always a wild card that can keep owners guessing week in and out over who to start. We like to look at how good the opposing defenses are, the game scripts that would allow a high scoring affair and kicker accuracy.

Let’s see which ones do NOT pass the grade for Week 8.

Kai Forbath, Los Angles Rams at Miami Dolphins

Sam Sloman is out in Los Angeles. The rookie kicker was released after missing three extra points and three field goals on the season (8-for-11). It’s a surprising move whenever a team uses a draft pick on a kicker, even if it’s a 7th rounder, but then to release him midway through the season. Missing extra points just can’t be done and word is that he was unable to ensure kickoffs were kicked out of the end zone. Sloman will join the endless carousel of free agent kickers seemingly out there.

In his place, the Rams picked up veteran Kai Forbath to step in and start in Week 8. We last saw him in 2019 where he split his time in New England (one game where he missed an extra point and was released) and Dallas where he made all of his kicks over three games). He’s a solid kicker who was once a reliable starter as recent as 2017 for the Vikings when he converted 12-of-16 field goals from beyond 40 yards including six from 50+.

Some in need might think to add the veteran in their lineup but he’s facing the Dolphins who have kept four kickers under 6.0 fantasy points. They’ve also allowed just one successful field goal from beyond 40 yards. Forbath will definitely be on the streaming radar this season, just not in Week 8.
