Mac Jones, New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills
In all honesty, I don’t think Jones will have a repeat performance of what happened in Week 13. That was game plan specific given the weather conditions of a cold and snowy game. He bounced back in Week 15 to throw for nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns.
That said, we’re going to err on the side of caution since the consistency hasn’t been there lately for Jones. And the way to beat Buffalo, as established recently, is by pounding the rock on the ground.
Will the Patriots have a different game plan? You bet. Will Jones throw for over 200 yards? Probably, but in this crucial matchup where the Patriots could put some distance from the Bills in the division, we see Josh McDaniels and Bill Belichick getting more conservative once the team is in the red zone. That means we expect the run near the goal line, and if not, settle for Nick Folk.
