Welcome, Bruno Boys Nation to the Week 13 of the 2022 NFL Season! Along with the variety of fantasy football formats, we cover Player Prop bets. So in case you just want some quick action for the weekend, Ernie Estrella is tackling Player Prop betting during the season. He will break down the wiser bets for five players (2 in-depth, 3 quick) at quarterback, running back and wide receiver, based on how he sees the game script going.

Week 13 Running Backs

Austin Ekeler will catch OVER 5.5 receptions (-130 PointsBet) against the Raiders.

Start Time: Sunday, December 4, Allegiant Stadium 4:25pm ET
Broadcast:  CBS Sports / Paramount  / NFL+

From a rushing standpoint, Austin Ekeler is guessing game. He’s had as little as four carries in a game to as many as 19 carries. When he has the volume he typically produces. But his rushing attempts (12.5) and rushing yards (48.5-55.5) props are too risky.  This Chargers team is not committed to the run as much as they should be.

They didn’t get here overnight. Ekeler did rush 14 times for 36 yards in Week 1 against the Raiders. But this Chargers team as it’s constructed right now didn’t start opening up until all the injuries forced Justin Herbert to look elsewhere to pass. Now Ekeler leads the team in receptions and by a mile.

The bet I would take is Ekeler’s reception prop of 5.5 receptions. He’s been targeted like crazy since Week 6. In six games, he’s received 65 targets and has pulled in 49 of those for receptions. That’s an average of eight receptions per game in that stretch.
