Welcome, Bruno Boys Nation to the Week 2 of the 2022 NFL Season! Along with the variety of fantasy football formats, we cover Player Prop bets. So in case you just want some quick action for the weekend, Ernie Estrella is tackling Player Prop betting during the season. He will break down the wiser bets for five players (2 in-depth, 3 quick) at quarterback, running back and wide receiver, based on how he sees the game script going.

Week 2 Quarterbacks

Jalen Hurts will rush UNDER 50.5 yards (-114 FanDuel) against the Vikings.

Start Time: Monday, September 19, Lincoln Financial Field 8:30pm ET
Broadcast: ABC / ESPN  / NFL

Jalen Hurts can be dangerous with his arm and legs. This multiple threat makes him a fantasy stud quarterback that’s hard to get a good read on how much he’s going to throw in a game.

A.J. Brown was a huge pickup for the Eagles and is the perfect companion to Devonta Smith as he continues to develop. Dallas Goedert has become a trustworthy target for Hurts too and between those three, is at least 200-225 passing yards accounted for. It’s the rest of the team that leaves you wanting more as the running back room is crowded and a guessing game as to who will be involved and how much.

That’s why Hurts calls his number as well. He will rush the ball 8-10 times each game. The more he does it, the more likely his yards will climb. There was a six-game stretch in the middle of the 2021 season where Hurts went over 50 rushing yards in each game. However, he’s only done that seven times last season.

He rushed for 90 in Week 1, which is why you want to bet the over, but the Vikings reminded everyone that their defense is solid. They added Zadarius Smith in free agency and did not give Aaron Rodgers much breathing space to operate. Hurts will move around and be active but the Vikings will look to contain him better than the Lions did. He’ll come close, but I think Hurts is UNDER 50.5 rushing yards in Week 2.
