Welcome, Bruno Boys Nation to the Week 2 of the 2022 NFL Season! Along with the variety of fantasy football formats, we cover Player Prop bets. So in case you just want some quick action for the weekend, Ernie Estrella is tackling Player Prop betting during the season. He will break down the wiser bets for five players (2 in-depth, 3 quick) at quarterback, running back and wide receiver, based on how he sees the game script going.

Week 2 Running Backs

Javonte Williams will receiver OVER 3.5 receptions (+125 and go OVER 23.5 yards (-110 DraftKings) on the Houston Texans.

Start Time: Sunday, September 11, Empower Field at Mile High 4:25pm ET
Broadcast: CBS Sports / Paramount+ / NFL

Javonte Williams showed in Week 1 what kind of offensive force he will be in 2022. He rushed seven times for 43 yards but also caught 11-of-12 receptions for 65 yards. Melvin Gordon was used primarily as Broncos’ main rushing back. Gordon still has gas left in the tank, I just see who is an angrier runner, and poses the bigger threat to an opposing defense. Williams has more upside.

Now Williams usage is going to scare off some who want to take the OVER on his 55.5 rushing yards prop bet. I would almost take that because I’m that confident in Williams having a big day against the Texans who allowed Jonathan Taylor 161 rushing yards and Nyheim Hines 50 receiving yards in Week 1. That’s understandable.

Given the split is up in the air as far as carries goes, I am comfortable betting on Williams in the passing game. One can’t expect Williams will get 12 targets again, but four receptions is a safe number given how much Russell Wilson threw to his running backs (41 percent) in Week 1. Williams ran routes on 63 percent of his offensive snaps, meaning he is more involved in the offense than Gordon. Then just think about the yards after catch with this kid with the way he barrels into defenders. Because of that, betting the OVER on Williams receptions (3.5) and his receiving yards (23.5) are strong, safe bets.
