Welcome, Bruno Boys Nation to the Week 9 of the 2022 NFL Season! Along with the variety of fantasy football formats, we cover Player Prop bets. So in case you just want some quick action for the weekend, Ernie Estrella is tackling Player Prop betting during the season. He will break down the wiser bets for five players (2 in-depth, 3 quick) at quarterback, running back and wide receiver, based on how he sees the game script going.
Week 9 Quarterbacks
Patrick Mahomes will throw OVER 2.5 touchdowns (+150 FanDuel) and OVER 277.5 yards (-115 BetMGM) against the Titans.
Start Time: Sunday, November 6, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium 8:20pm ET
Broadcast: NBC Sports / Peacock / NFL+
Patrick Mahomes has been on fire this season, and while much will be made about this matchup between AFC powerhouses, nothing is slowing Mahomes down. He is averaging 308.4 yards per game and 2.85 touchdowns per game. His 66.9 completion percentage is a career high and is well on pace for 45 touchdowns. Mahomes is on such a tear that he’s thrown at least three touchdowns four times already and is aiming for number five.
What’s hot right now is that he’s most confident in his receivers. He trusts JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marques Valdez-Scantling as his top two receivers to pair with Travis Kelce. Early on he was leaning on his tight ends, even his second and third string TEs. But not as much now since JJSS and MVS are sizzling.
Yes, he got more ammunition in Kadarius Toney but the scary thing to us is that he has yet to truly incorporate Clyde Edwards-Helaire or Isaiah Pacheco. Mahomes has an embarrassment of riches. Then consider that Tennessee is giving up an average of 274.0 yards and 2.0 touchdowns per game. Either one of Mahomes’ props should be shattered. If I could pick one, I would opt for the touchdown prop because of those +150 odds.
