Welcome, Bruno Boys Nation to the Week 9 of the 2022 NFL Season! Along with the variety of fantasy football formats, we cover Player Prop bets. So in case you just want some quick action for the weekend, Ernie Estrella is tackling Player Prop betting during the season. He will break down the wiser bets for five players (2 in-depth, 3 quick) at quarterback, running back and wide receiver, based on how he sees the game script going.
Week 9 Running Backs
Austin Ekeler will catch OVER 51.5 yards (-110 FanDuel) against the Falcons.
Start Time: Sunday, November 6, Mercedes-Benz Stadium 1:00pm ET
Broadcast: FOX Sports / NFL+
I was hoping to see a reception prop for Ekeler but at 6.5 receptions, that was too high for my taste. I do think Ekeler will land around 5-7 receptions given how depleted the Chargers are at receiver. If you’re willing to entertain Ekeler being the team’s leading receiver, that might be where you want to head with your money, but a safer play is Ekeler’s receiving yards.
He’s hovered right around that 50 yard mark, but the Chargers need all the help they can get moving the ball. Ekeler has twice gone over 52 yards this season, but his season average is 51.0 yards per game. Typically, you go conservative and under in general, but all it takes is one or two big plays against the horrible Falcons defense and you’ve won this bet. Just recall what Leonard Fournette did back in Week 5 against the Falcons when he caught 10 passes for 83 yards.
