There aren’t enough subplots that can boost this Week 1 matchup between the Browns and Panthers. Who wouldn’t like to see Baker Mayfield light up his old team after discarding him after getting Deshaun Watson, who by the way, won’t be playing until Week 12? Well, the Browns defense, that’s who.
The last thing the Browns want to do is be shown up by the guy they dismissed so expect Myles Garrett and company to get after him and force some turnovers. By the way, Cleveland’s first four games of the season are Carolina (Mayfield), New York Jets (Joe Flacco or Zach Wilson), Pittsburgh (Mitch Trubisky?) and Atlanta (Marcus Mariota).
