1. Mike Davis, RB, Baltimore Ravens at New York Jets
Ravens Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman uttered the dreaded words, “hot hand” to describe how they’ll determine who gets the ball against the Jets. It is looking like it would be a long shot to see J.K. Dobbins suit up for Week 1, but stay close to your newswire. Recent waiver claim Kenyan Drake is expected to be in the mix, but Davis is the thumper they need to handle the early down work.
Whomever is that hot hand is going to start the season against a defense that last year gave up 167.0 rushing yards and 1.7 rushing touchdowns per game. As we mentioned previously, the Jets have made upgrades, like every team. We can’t assume their run defense is still this bad, but we think it’s safe to start Davis in this scenario and get a sneaky double-digit score out of him in Week 1.
