7. D’Onta Foreman, RB, Carolina Panthers vs. Detroit Lions
In case you’ve been under a rock the past few weeks, the Lions are hot, winners of six games out of their last seven and they are trying to become a team of destiny and barge into the playoffs for the first time since Prohibition. Okay, that last bit was a slight exaggeration. Something that’s been lost in the midst of their hot streak is their ability to stuff the run. In Weeks 1-7 they were a bottom three run defense. Nine running backs scored double-digit fantasy points on them in that span, including 10 touchdowns.
Since then, not a single running back has scored over 9.50 points. The most rushing yards they’ve allowed a single back is 72 yards and they’ve allowed just three touchdowns to RBs in the last seven games. That leaves Foreman in a tough bind, as a back who has not scored since Week 10 and was erased from the box score in Week 15. The Panthers do not throw the ball well, but that is how you can beat the Lions. Just know that the Lions have yet to give up a receiving touchdown to a running back this whole season.
