6. Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers at Indianapolis Colts
It’s taken some weeks for Allen to get back to normal, but he’s fully back as the Chargers top target. He’s caught 26-of-37 targets for 266 yards and one touchdown. So why is he a sit this week? We don’t like his matchup with Stephon Gilmore. It took the Vikings an entire game of feeding K.J. Osborn in last week’s epic comeback, before they could circle back to Justin Jefferson who was locked with Gilmore for the game. Eventually Jefferson won out, but Justin Herbert doesn’t have to force the ball into Allen like the Vikings do with JJ, or the Raiders do with Davante Adams. When there are other options to throw to, those stats even out, as Mike Williams, Gerald Everett and Joshua Palmer will bite into Allen’s action this week. Allen may still get WR2 numbers, but the Chargers offense, though coming back, has been tricky to navigate from a touchdown perspective. Still, if you have some better options, consider them as Allen’s knocked down from the WR1 perch for a week.
