AFC North
Cincinnati climbed back into the picture as everyone else took an L. Defense is normally a quality staple in and around this division. Lately though, it’s been absent.
Baltimore Ravens – The Ravens did a great job limiting Josh Allen in the first half, then the defense collapsed for the second straight week, allowing the last 20 unanswered points of the game. Lamar Jackson now has five interceptions this season–two in this game–including a brutal one at the goal line, that would have given them the lead with four minutes left. Also J.K. Dobbins is back in the picture and scored two touchdowns.
Cincinnati Bengals – Good things happen when you protect your quarterback. Burrow was sacked just once and it was business as usual. Joe Mixon got into the end zone and it was Tee Higgins’ turn to have a big game. Hayden Hurst also scored, which keeps him on the radar for those still needing a TE2.
Cleveland Browns – The Browns blew a golden opportunity to get separation from the rest of the division. Nick Chubb had another stellar game (19 rushes, 118 yards and 1 TD), but the defense let them down. Starting defensive ends Myles Garrett and Jadaveon Clowney missed this game due to injuries. Garrett could miss 2-4 weeks with injuries sustained from a one-car accident. They’ve got to fix this defense quick, or this season is going to fizzle out fast.
Pittsburgh Steelers – Mike Tomlin finally turned to rookie Kenny Pickett to try and give the offense some spark. Unfortunately, the Jets spoiled his debut, picking him off three times. Now they’ll face Buffalo and Pickett has already been named the starter. Bumpy road lies ahead.
