8. Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Isaiah Pacheco, RB, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tennessee Titans
Let’s cover Edwards-Helaire first, who recently lost his job to rookie Isaiah Pacheco. CEH has been on a sudden drop in offensive touches. Going from 12 in Week 5, to nine in Week 6, to just six in Week 7. He has three straight weeks with single-digit scores and has not broke into the top 25 running backs. Will he be re-integrated into the offense after the bye? We will see. If there’s anyone who could bounce back into the game plan it would be CEH.
It’s not like Pacheco has done anything against the Bills or 49ers to give fantasy owners the confidence moving forward. Pacheco has a total of 27.0 fantasy points on the season, of which he scored just 7.0 points combined in the last two games. He’s not likely to do much more against the Titans either. Only one back has been able to crack 67+ yards on the Titans, and that was Saquon Barkley back in Week 1.
Volume will be key for any back to score points against the Titans but with no back impressing anyone, guessing which back gets that volume is just that, a guess. That volume may not come until the Chiefs build a lead and try to milk the clock. If Derrick Henry continues to run wild, neither back may not get many touches at all.
