4. Mac Jones, QB, New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts
Bill Belichick is not one to do anything that is predictable, however, the Patriots offense has been focused on Rhamondre Stevenson and to a lesser degree Damien Harris. Last week, Mac Jones got back into the driver’s seat of the offense and is content to get the offense far enough to kick field goals. He has not thrown more than a touchdown in a single game, he’s rushed for a score too but the alarming stat is that he has seven interceptions to four touchdowns. That’s a dreadful ratio that doesn’t look to change this week.
The Colts do have a decent pass defense that’s designed to keep opponents running the ball. Is it effective? Yes, because you have to go back to Week 4 to find a QB that has thrown multiple touchdowns on the Colts. They even held Patrick Mahomes to just one touchdown pass in Week 3. They are also 3-4-1 but that’s largely because their offense is struggling.
