Welcome, Bruno Boys Nation to the Week 2 of the 2023 NFL Season! Along with the variety of fantasy football formats, we cover Player Prop bets. So in case you just want some quick action for the weekend, Ernie Estrella is tackling Player Prop betting during the season. He will break down and select a handful of bets for five players at quarterback, running back and wide receivers / tight ends, based on how he sees the game script going.
Week 2 Wide Receivers and Tight Ends
Tyreek Hill will have the most receiving yards (+150 FanDuel) against the Patriots.
Start Time: Sunday, September 17, Gillette Stadium, 8:20pm ET
Broadcast: NBC Sports / Peacock / NFL+
Tyreek Hill went off in Week 1 against the Chargers and gave a blueprint to beat the Titans. He caught 11 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Bill Belichick will try to devise a way to nullify him. However, he’s been trying to do that for a long time.
Hill’s teams are 4-3 against the Patriots, including the playoffs. Last season with the Dolphins they were 1-1. Now, we must note that Tua Tagovailoa is undefeated against the Patriots. He is 4-0 and in his only game last season against New England, Tua found Tyreek Hill for eight catches for 94 yards. There have been a lot of attempts to slow the Cheetah down, but few teams have been successful. In the Dolphins’ second game against New England, Skylar Thompson and Teddy Bridgewater were under center in that game. Hill caught just four passes for 55 scoreless yards. That seems to be the caveat when discussing the Dolphins. With Tua or without Tua?
So with Tua healthy, the Dolphins look unstoppable on offense. That’s why we like Hill to somehow lead the game in receiving yards. Why not piggyback off the momentum of Week 1 and find ways to get Hill the ball and turn the game into a track meet. His reception prop is set at 5.5 (over) or 6.5 (under) and his yards prop is set at 80. In each of those scenarios, the odds are nowhere near as good as Hill having the most receiving yards in the game.
