Welcome, Bruno Boys Nation to the Week 3 of the 2023 NFL Season! Along with the variety of fantasy football formats, we cover Player Prop bets. So in case you just want some quick action for the weekend, Ernie Estrella is tackling Player Prop betting during the season. He will break down and select a handful of bets for five players at quarterback, running back and wide receivers / tight ends, based on how he sees the game script going.
Week 3 Running Backs
Rachaad White will rush UNDER 45.5 yards (-110 FanDuel) against the Eagles.
Start Time: Sunday, September 25 Raymond James Stadium, 4:15pm ET
Broadcast: ABC Sports and ESPN / ESPN+ / NFL+
For a young running back, the Bucs trust White to be their work horse tailback. In two straight weeks he’s rushed 17 times to varying results. Against the Vikings, a middle of the road run defense, he was stuffed for 39 scoreless yards. It goes to show just how bad the Bears defense is because White ran for 73 yards with a touchdown last week. That doesn’t bode well for White who is facing the Eagles in Week 3.
The Eagles bottled up Rhamondre Stevenson in Week 1 to just 25 rushing yards. That’s a serious bell cow back that they contained. Zeke Elliott and the Vikings’ Alexander Mattison saw similar fates. As long as they continue to keep backs out of the end zone, they will improve on their 2022 season, which they did a good job to minimize rushing yardage. Only seven backs managed to reach 60 or more yards against the Eagles, and just two went over 100. But White’s not getting a whiff of 100. He’s lucky to be this close to 50 yards on his prop.
This is a game where Baker Mayfield will need to have a game where he proves it to Tampa Bay, and more importantly, Philadelphia, that he can beat them with his brain and his arm. White should get touches still, but the team may have to abandon the run at halftime.
