Welcome, Bruno Boys Nation to the Week 5 of the 2023 NFL Season! Along with the variety of fantasy football formats, we cover Player Prop bets. So in case you just want some quick action for the weekend, Ernie Estrella is tackling Player Prop betting during the season. He will break down a favorable matchup and select a handful of bets for five players at quarterback, running back and wide receivers / tight ends, based on how he sees the game script going.

Week 5 Quarterbacks

Matthew Stafford will throw OVER 270.5 yards (-110 FanDuel) against the Eagles.

Start Time: Sunday, October 8, SOFI Stadium, 4:05pm ET
Broadcast:  FOX Sports /  FOX NOW / NFL+

Matthew Stafford gets his favorite target back, Cooper Kupp. Is that enough to feel optimistic about this Rams team? That’s tough to say because the Eagles defense is still a good one. And last we saw, the Rams are not getting any offensive linemen that are the equivalent of Kupp to the wide receiver landscape.

That said, Stafford will get a big boost with Kupp, having already established good working relationships with youngsters like Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell. Kupp will serve as another player with reliable hands and speed that the defense will need to attend to. But unlike the past, when it was just Kupp, Stafford has options.

On paper, this matchup appears to be a mismatch, but for Stafford and their aerial attack, it could be much closer than one thinks. The Eagles give up the 5th-most fantasy points to wide receivers and an average of 260.8 passing yards per game. Meanwhile Stafford has attempted no less than 33 passes and thrown for no fewer than 269 yards in a game this season. This team is built to pass, and will run the ball to set up the pass. That’s why Stafford will surpass his passing yards prop.
