Week 3 of the 2023 NFL Season has arrived and we’re still reeling from the drama of Week 2. Nick Chubb suffered a devastating knee injury and is out for the season. Kareem Hunt has been added but is Deshaun Watson’s poor play more alarming? Saquon Barkley has an ankle sprain and is out for Thursday’s game. Almost the entire NFC South is 2-0 and the Bengals, Patriots and Chargers are 0-2.

So we’ve sorted though all the matchups and will help you make those tough decisions. In no particular order, here are our Fantasy Football Starts for Week 3.

Geno Smith, QB, Seattle Seahawks vs. Carolina Panthers

Headed into Week 2, we hoped that Smith was just off to a slow start against the Rams. Well he picked up the pace against the Lions, in a thrilling overtime game where Smith made clutch passes to secure a victory. This is the Geno we witnessed blossom last season. Hopefully he carries that momentum to Week 3.

The Panthers have looked tough so far against opposing quarterbacks despite losing Jaycee Horn for a month with a hamstring injury. Carolina is also coming off the short week, playing on Monday night, so they have a lot of wounds to lick in a short time (Bryce Young). Luckily the Seahawks remained stacked and provided D.K. Metcalf (ribs) and tackle Charles Cross (toe) are healthy enough, the Seahawks should have enough firepower to put up points.
