It was a nice start to Week 7. All of our VIP customers took advantage of our +9 choice of Coastal Carolina against U. of Louisiana Lafayette and they won outright. On top of that, we posted about how Arkansas State and Georgia State was going to be well over 72 points and they combined for 111 total. Easy winner, and to add to the hot streak, we hit the Arkansas State +3 to Over 65 point teaser in that same game.

#3 Georgia (3-0) at #2 Alabama (3-0)

Spread: Alabama -6 (-110)
Over/Under: 57 points
Time: 8:00pm ET (CBS)

Amazing to think these teams are facing each other for the third time in 5 years, yet this will be the first time these teams are going to meet in the regular season in Tuscaloosa since 2007. From what we have gotten in the past two previous meetings (National Title & SEC Championship) this one should be another wild one.

This has been an absolutely wild week for the Crimson Tide. Losing Nick Saban to Covid this week has thrown an absolute wrench into this Crimson Tide season. We have not seen this team play without Saban yet, but you can be sure there will be some noticeable differences and without doubt a lack of leadership.

You add to this that after giving up 647 yards last week Alabama now has a new defensive coordinator in Charlie Strong who will take over this weekend. The defense has been struggling all season and he will need to make a major difference right away if Alabama expects to make this a championship season.

Offensively, Alabama has looked great as expected. Like I spoke we spoke about earlier in the year there has been explosiveness and it has been needed as we stated above the defensive struggles. This weekend will need to be more of the same as this Georgia defense will be by far the best unit that Alabama has faced.

Georgia defensively through three games has given up a total of 736 total yards and has been just plain terrific. Georgia dead coach Kirby Smart knows the value of this game and it’s not just the importance of the SEC or a National Title because a loss does not end either of these teams season’s. Instead this is all about a recruiting advantage that winning a game like this gives you. The Bulldogs was No. 1 in the country in recruiting last season and they continue to find talent all over the country.  Saturday night offers a huge opportunity for Georgia to make a big step.

Offensively, the Bulldogs has shown improvement and the receiving corps has been strong. Couple this with a weak and inexperienced Alabama secondary and I see some big play opportunities. I expect tons of chances, but if Georgia can take advantage will be the big question.

I see how this game could get moving on the scoreboard, however I think with all the uncertainty surrounding this Alabama coaching staff as well as a defense that needs some serious help, I will take these points and enjoy a fun SEC battle of top national teams.

Pick #: Georgia +5 (-110 at Caesars)

Editors Note: As of this writing, Nick Saban wasn’t expected to coach on Saturday night. There are rumors that Saban is one more negative test away from being on the sidelines for this game. Make sure to check back for more regarding Saban.
