Derrius Guice, RB, Washington Redskins
Guice made his return from a knee injury in Week 11 against the New York Jets. While he split carries with Adrian Peterson (seven carries, to nine for Peterson), Guice was marginally more efficient as a runner and had his one reception on two targets was a 45-yard touchdown on a screen pass.
Over the next three weeks, Washington will face defenses who entered Week 11 allowing the second (Detroit Lions), third (Carolina Panthers) and sixth-most (Green Bay Packers) fantasy points to running backs (Yahoo! PPR scoring). Week 16 against the New York Giants isn’t quite as good, but it’s favorable-looking.
Guice should start to see more touches than Peterson, as the Redskins try to get a longer look at him over the rest of the season. He’ll be hard to rely on, at least in Week 12, but Guice should be owned in a lot more leagues soon.
