The 2018 NFL season is eight weeks old and it’s time to start picking up streaming defenses from your fantasy football waiver wire, they are wrong. Unless you own a top-5 defense, you are better off finding the best option each week from your fantasy football waiver wire. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the team defense that is going to help you win your matchup.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire team defenses that could help your team in Week 9.
Kansas City Chiefs, D/ST
After being one of the worst defenses in the league, the Chiefs have allowed 23 or less points (14 or less twice) with multiple takeaways or a defensive touchdown in three of their last four games. They also have 14 sacks over that four-game span, with at least nine fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring) three times in that span, and Kansas City has registered multiple sacks in six straight games.
The Cleveland Browns are struggling offensively, and they’ve now fired head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley in a house cleaning. Running backs coach Freddie Kitchens has been promoted to offensive coordinator, so a more conservative approach may be coming but it’s hard to know.
Kansas City’s defense is trending the right way, and they get a solid matchup in Week 9. In a six-team bye week, that puts them firmly on the streaming radar.
