Perine had 11 carries for 30 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, while adding four catches for 52 yards and three touchdowns. Joe Mixon left the game in the third quarter due to a concussion, which automatically clouds his status for Week 12 against the Tennessee Titans and perhaps beyond.
Perine made some sense as a deeper waiver wire add in recent weeks, purely based on if something happened to Mixon. Something has happened to him now, raising Perine’s value from purely speculative to very real as the potential lead back in a very good offense.
Perine won’t score three touchdowns in a game anytime soon, and possibly never again in his career. But he has surfaced late in Week 11’s proceedings as a Week 12 must-add in 12-team leagues, regardless of having Mixon on a roster.
