Week 13 of the 2022 NFL season is almost in the books, with Sunday and Monday night games to be completed. But fantasy football managers can and should be looking ahead to the new week for waiver wire adds already.
NFL schedule makers clearly hate fantasy managers, with six teams (Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints) on a bye for the final regular season week in most leagues.
Here are nine early must-adds from your Week 14 fantasy football waiver wire.
James Cook, RB, Buffalo Bills
Cook had 14 carries for 64 yards along with six catches for 41 yards against the New England Patriots last Thursday night. Devin Singletary remained heavily involved (13 carries for 51 yards) and scored a touchdown, but Cook has double-digit carries and more than 60 rushing yards in two of the last three games. Over the last two, he has eight catches on 11 targets.
Cook is clearly a more dynamic player than Singletary, averaging 6.3 yards per touch this season to Singletary’s 4.9, and his skill set as a dual threat is broadly a better fit for Buffalo’s offense.
A two-back committee with Singletary puts a lid on Cook’s fantasy upside. But it’s now lined up to be a far closer workload split than it was for much of the season. Cook is work a long look on the waiver wire heading into Week 14, with the prospect the workload split favors him at some point soon.
