Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers
Hubbard didn’t do much on the ground against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, with four carries for 10 yards. But he did have 57 yards on three receptions, and he had 31 carries in the previous two games with 65 rushing yards or more in each.
D’Onta Foreman hasn’t been as effective as a runner lately, and Hubbard ate into his early down snaps on Sunday. So plenty of work may be coming his way.
Week 16 against the Detroit Lions and Week 17 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a pair of tough matchups. But Hubbard of course played Tampa Bay before this season, and he had some success (nine carries for 63 yards and touchdowns; two catches for 10 yards).
Hubbard is not a slam-dunk fantasy starter in the remaining playoff weeks. But he could be a flex option in leagues with 12 or more teams, with a tilt to PPR, and this is also a time to play a little defense with roster additions. Adding Hubbard can be as much about keeping a playoff opponent from doing so as anything.
