K.J. Osborn, WR, Minnesota Vikings
Osborn has had a somewhat disappointing season overall. But he had a big game in Week 15 against the Indianapolis Colts, with 10 catches (on 16 targets) for 157 yards and a touchdown. He has now scored in back-to-back games too.
Week 16’s matchup has trended better as the New York Giants‘ secondary has been thinned by injuries. Justin Jefferson will off course command plenty of attention, leaving Osborn to take advantage of single coverage against a lesser player. Adam Thielen no longer has much upside as the Vikings’ No. 2 receiver, so Osborn should get a better chance to shine as his rapport with Kirk Cousins reaches a level of consistency.
Week 17 against the Green Bay Packers isn’t a great matchup either, but Osborn could have some appeal in fantasy championship week on the WR3/flex line in leagues with 12 or more teams.
Osborn won’t be repeating his performance against the Colts. But he is trending positively at the most important time on the fantasy schedule, and that puts him on the waiver wire radar.
