Week 2 is winding down, with the Sunday night game and a Monday night doubleheader that used to be Week 1 bumped to Week 2 this year.

But let’s get a jump on the waiver wire with nine must-adds looking to Week 3.

Raheem Mostert, RB, Miami Dolphins

Miami’s backfield was led by Chase Edmonds in Week 1, and on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens it was Mostert with 79 total yards to 41 total yards on six touches for Edmonds. It’s unclear how a 28-7 halftime deficit and a 35-14 deficit entering the fourth quarter impacted running back snaps. But Edmonds is generally regarded as a pass-catching back and Mostert ran almost the same number of pass routes (25, to 26 for Edmonds, according to Pro Football Focus).

Mostert carries familiarity for Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel from their days together with the San Francisco 49ers. How much that matters moving forward is unclear, and Miami’s backfield will only be unmuddled by an injury to Edmonds or Mostert.

But a running back with 15-touch potential every week cannot be ignored in fantasy circles, to say nothing of the raw ability Mostert has shown when healthy and with opportunity. He should be owned in all 12-team leagues.
