Darrell Henderson, RB, Los Angeles Rams

Yes, we know that Henderson’s ownership percentage is a lot higher than the guys we usually target in this article, however we want to make it known that the running back needs to be owned in 100-percent of leagues.

With Cam Akers (ribs) out and Malcolm Brown (finger) operating at less than full capacity, Henderson had 20 carries for 114 yards and a touchdown against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday while adding a catch for six yards. He has scored in back-to-back games, with 195 yards on 32 carries as he has taken the reigns of the Rams’ backfield.

With separated rib cartilage, Akers is probably facing a multi-week absence. Brown had seven carries on Sunday, but Henderson has looked good enough that he can’t be moved away from too much.

Week 4 against the New York Giants and Week 5 against Washington are favorable matchups for Henderson, before tougher matchups in Week 6 (San Francisco 49ers) and Week 7 (Chicago Bears). Then in Week 8 it gets easier again against the Miami Dolphins.

Henderson is lined up as no worse than a low-end RB2 for the next two weeks, and with room to add him it’s at least worth checking on his availability in your league. As long as he continues to produce, Sean McVay’s profession of a backfield committee will carry no water.
