Jared Goff, QB, Los Angeles Rams
Goff ended up efficient (23-for-32) and proficient (321 yards, two touchdowns, one interception) against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, with a rushing touchdown for good measure. He has multiple passing touchdowns in each of the last two games, with over 23 fantasy points each time.
Goff gets nice matchups against the New York Giants in Week 4 and then Washington in Week 5. The Giants have allowed two touchdown passes per game in three games thus far, and Washington entered Week 3 allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
Tougher matchups are coming in Week 6 (San Francisco 49ers) and Week 7 (Chicago Bears) and Goff’s dismal history against the Bears has to be noted. But then a nice matchup against the Miami Dolphins is on the slate in Week 8.
Goff ‘s ownership rate in ESPN leagues is just disrespectful at this point. He’s a solid streamer in each of the next two weeks, and those tough matchups in Week 6 and 7 might start to look more palatable if he keeps playing well. In 12-and-14 team leagues, the former No. 1 overall pick is at least a worthy QB2 that can put up QB1 numbers virtually any week.
