Scotty Miller, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With Chris Godwin (hamstring) out again and Mike Evans (ankle) banged up again in the game, Miller had five receptions (on seven targets) for 83 yards and a touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4. The second-year man out of Bowling Green has topped 80 yard in back-to-back games, with over 70 yards and at least 9.8 fantasy points (0.5-point PPR) in three of four so far.
Godwin is likely to miss a second straight game on a short week. Evans has to be considered iffy, and he surely won’t be operating at 100 percent for a Thursday night game. The matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 5 isn’t great, but Miller has a last-man standing element to him, with tight end O.J. Howard suffering an Achilles’ injury on Sunday.
Tom Brady seems to be hitting a stride, with eight touchdown passes over his last two games and 297 and 369 yards in those contests. Miller is a nice plug-and-play for Week 5, with WR3 utility beyond that almost regardless of Godwin and Evans’ health.
