Chase Edmonds, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Edmonds had just three carries in Week 5 against the New York Jets, but he made them count with a 29-yard touchdown run on his way to 36 yards on the ground. He added five catches on six targets for the second straight game, for 56 yards. He has scored in three of five games thus far, as he continues to outdo Kenyan Drake in the passing game and generally be more explosive.
Averaging 3.7 yards per carry so far, with nothing in the passing game, means Drake shouldn’t be guaranteed the lead role going forward. An inability to get much going in three straight good matchups, banged up or not, has to tilt things toward Edmonds.
Edmonds is easy to paint as a high-end handcuff, but he’s producing with light opportunities and deserves more. On the idea Kliff Kingsbury comes to his senses, Edmonds is an RB3/RB4 with RB2 upside in 12 and 14-team leagues. Get him while you can, if you can.
