Jamaal Williams, RB, Green Bay Packers
A late-week calf injury sidelined Aaron Jones for Sunday against the Houston Texans, and Williams stepped into the lead role (114 total yards and a rushing touchdown on 21 touches). With how careful the Packers are with injuries (see Davante Adams earlier this season), Jones may miss a little more time if his calf issue lingers at all.
In Week 8 the Packers get the reeling Minnesota Vikings, a mid-pack fantasy defense against running backs that entered Week 6 in the top-five in rush attempts allowed to the position. So a lead role for Williams would be profitable, and he had 42 total yards on 11 touches (four catches) against the Vikings back in Week 1 with Jones healthy.

With a bye week behind him, Williams is worth an add for bench depth as a flex option in 12 and 14-team leagues with extra value in PPR formats. If Jones is out for Week 8 (or longer), there’s high-end RB2 upside here.
