Derek Carr, QB, Las Vegas Raiders
Carr had another good performance Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, completing 24 of 36 passes for 284 yards with two touchdowns and one interception (along with 19 rushing yards). He has multiple passing touchdowns in five straight games now, with more than 20 fantasy points in four of them. Oh, and he has topped 280 passing yards in four of his last five too.
In Week 8 Carr gets the Cleveland Browns, who have now allowed multiple passing touchdowns to five of seven quarterbacks they’ve faced this season (Joe Burrow twice). Four of those five, with Dwayne Haskins the exception, have put up more than 24 fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring).
From Week 9-Week 13, Carr will get favorable matchups against the Los Angeles Chargers (Week 9), Denver Broncos (Week 10) Atlanta Falcons (Week 12) and New York Jets (Week 13). Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs is tougher, but Carr had 347 yards and three touchdowns against them in Week 5. The Week 11 matchup will be at home, and not subject to November weather in Kansas City.
Carr is refusing to be ignored, with high-level production to go with taking care of the football well. He is in the streaming/QB1 conversation through and beyond currently scheduled bye weeks
