Week 7 of the 2022 NFL season is almost in the books, with Sunday and Monday night games to be completed. But fantasy football managers can and should be looking ahead for waiver wire adds already. Week 8 is a light bye week by number of teams, but the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers are idle.
Here are nine must-adds from your Week 8 fantasy football waiver wire.
Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Edwards was activated off IR in time for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. With J.K. Dobbins (knee) going on IR and expected to miss 4-6 weeks, there was an opening in the Ravens’ backfield and Edwards filled it with 16 carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill combined for 16 carries and 31 yards on Sunday.
Lamar Jackson will always vulture production from Baltimore’s running backs (10 carries for 59 yards on Sunday). But his presence as a threat with his legs also makes it easier for said backs, whoever they are, and Edwards has had success in the past.
Edwards should be rostered in all leagues with at least 12 teams now, though his value is not quite as good in PPR formats.
