What a game this is going to be. Talk about two powerhouses getting after it on National TV. Not! Someone has to win this game. Let’s get ready for some ugly football tonight as two teams vie for their first victory of the 2020 NFL season.
Denver Broncos @ New York Jets (8:20pm ET – Thursday Night)
The Denver Broncos enter Thursday Night Football with a litany of injuries. From Starting QB, Drew Lock to Starting DT Jurell Casey. Denver is also without their No. 1 receiver in Cortland Sutton. The Broncos are winless, but they could have beat the Tennessee Titans if it wasn’t for some bad coaching decisions that changed the landscape of the game. Tonight, the Broncos are starting their 3rd string QB, Brett Rypien, son of Super Champ, Mark Rypien. The Broncos have the 29th ranked offense and the 20th ranked defense in 2020. The offense will be led by Melvin Gordon and rising star TE, Noah Fant. I don’t think Rypien is ready to start in the NFL and even against a bad Jets team he is likely to struggle.

AS for the New York Jets, they too have injuries, but nothing like the Broncos. Le’veon Bell is out again with a hamstring injury, but they have ironman RB, Frank Gore to handle the bulk of the touches in the NY backfield. We saw last week just how bad the Jets can be. Sam Darnold was the best player for the Indianapolis Colts. His two pick 6’s was all the Colts needed to win that game. That being said, the Jets enter this game as the worst offense in the NFL and the 17th ranked defense.
Here is what I expect to happen. I am putting this game on DC, Greg Williams. I think his defense will be ready to play against a 3rd string QB. The Jets will take away the run and make Rypien beat them. I also think the loss of Casey in the middle of the Defensive line will hurt the Broncos front. I expect Frank Gore to rush for at least 80 yards today and for the Jets to put together their best effort on the season.
Pick #1: Teaser New York Jets +5 & Under 47 points (-120)
Pick #2: Teaser New York Jets ML (-115)
Pick #3: Teaser Franke Gore Over 55.5 rushing yards (-120)
